Russian bombing of battle scarred Syrian city of Aleppo has hit an all time high as Assad regime forces make big gains on the ground. Now even cluster bombs, meant to attack large formations of troops in the open, are being dropped on the sprawling metropolis that two million Syrians once called home.

Russia is breaching international conventions by dropping incendiaries similar to white phosphorus on to residential neighbourhoods in the Syrian city of Aleppo in what is thought to be the prelude to a ground assault to retake the city from rebel forces.

Photographs have also shown what experts believe to be a thermobaric bomb, the most powerful explosive apart from a nuclear weapon, being detonated next to urban areas, with potentially devastating effects for civilians.

“Catastrophe” in Yarmouk as ISIS seizes camp

18,000 Palestinian refugees include 3,500 children are trapped between Assad’s barrel bombs and ISIS beheadings in the besieged Yarmouk Camp in Syria.

The camp is under siege for 612 days by Assad regime, 700 days no electricity, 188 days without water, 77 people starved to death as of April 2, 2015.

Question is: What does #ISIS really want with the refugee Yarmouk Camp?

— Yarmouk is being annihilated’: Palestinians in Syria are left to their fate
— “Turn off your electricity, water, heating, eat once a day, live in the dark ”
— Why is that UN now supporting Assad who killed thousands of Muslims? Where is UN, when Assad starved thousands of Muslims in Yarmouk Camp?
— Beyond Inhumane
— The refugees of Yarmouk deserve better than silence
— UN agency voices ‘deep concern’ as violence in Yarmouk Camp intensifies
— Head of UNRWA calls for safe passage for civilians to leave Yarmouk Camp under ISIS attack
— Quote one former resident of Yarmouk Camp: “It’s a battle within a battle in a siege within a siege…”

ASSAD REGIME ‘FREELY’ KILLS SYRIANS

Dar al-Shifa hospital where doctors struggled to patch up toddlers, rebels, and even government snipers—until Assad’s forces bombed it into oblivion.

The reason Assad forces aim for the hospital is that “when you kill one doctor, it is better than killing 1,000 fighters.”

On November 21, 2011 Assad’s troops succeeded in leveling the Dar al-Shifa hospital with a missile strike, killing at least 15 people including four members of the volunteer medical staff. Photographer Niclas Hammarström was at the hospital in the month prior to its destruction, documenting the work of those who put their own lives on the line to save others in the heart of the death zone.

Written by unknown soldier of WWI:
The blood swept lands and seas of red,
Where angels dare to tread.
As I put my hand to reach,
As God cried a tear of pain as the angels fell,
Again and again.

Syria no more- the war is changing the country beyond recognition

Syria’s three-year-old civil war – a vision of unimaginable desolation
More than 18,000 people are existing under blockade inside Yarmouk, enduring acute shortages of food, medicines and other essentials.

Yarmouk has been cut off since last July (2013). Many residents are now weak and severely malnourished, as well as being exposed to the risk of disease, or death and injury from fighting.
